We are Tomas and Linda Frydrych, a Scottish couple passionate about Scotland's wild places, which we have been exploring for over twenty years. And, obviously, we enjoy running, not least off the beaten track.

We are rather ordinary. We can relate to those who have to work hard to run a 4h Marathon, or to complete a mid-distance hill or trail race. In a world where 2h Marathon finish seems within the reach of the elites, and 100 mile trail races are often won in under 15h, for those of us mid pack, it is easy to undervalue our own abilities. We have found over the years that our modest running achievements translate into extraordinarily magical times in the hills.

That said, Scotland's hills can be an intimidating place to the uninitiated. They demand respect and hillcraft that takes time to develop -- that is where we come in, with skills, local knowledge and experience hard won.

Tomas, who does the guiding, has been venturing into the mountains in one way or another for over forty years. His one notable running achievement is a sub-24h FKT on the Assynt Traverse which he set, with Linda's support, in July 2016. He is a qualified Mountain Leader, a member of the Mountain Training Association, and a holder of BASP certificate in Outdoor Emergency First Aid.

Linda takes care of organisation and logistics. She is a sub-4 marathoner, who enjoys leisurely off road running, particularly in Scotland's less trodden North West.
